This is one of the strongest arguments for action on climate change. Human rights and justice is at the heart of the need for action on climate change. Can the polluting lifestyles of the richer countries ever be held accountable for the damage they are doing to the global environment? We are entering into un-charted waters here – where the damage is not local or national but global and where the timescale is not in terms of years or decades but several lifetimes.
