Gulf stream
For the UK and other areas of coastal Europe, the long-term future impact of climate change may possibly result in a drop in winter temperatures if sufficient cool water from melting icecaps and Greenland enters the Atlantic Ocean. This would affect and possibly cut off the Gulf Stream, which brings us mild winters and protects coastal countries in Northern Europe from colder continental type winters. This would have a huge impact on the UK climate.
