Cardboard
As with plastic, councils do not always collect cardboard from doorstep collections. Most household cardboard comes through packaging, a good deal of it unnecessary. Check through your regular shop and observe what comes in cardboard – soap, toothpaste, cereals, biscuits, ready meals. Much of the packaging is unnecessary and is both for ease of display and transport. Collect all items of household cardboard, even small boxes and toilet rolls for recycling.
Legally you can remove all unnecessary packaging at the supermarket till. If everyone did this routinely, things would soon change!
