Equipment
We live in a throw away society. A generation back every town would have people skilled in repairing all sorts of items – mechanical, shoes, clothes, bikes, electrical equipment. In the South, these industries still flourish. Repairing equipment is now so difficult or costly, it is often easier to buy a new item.
But there are still ways of ensuring that items we no longer need can be reused. Council recycling sites often allow users to check out what may available for reuse. Most areas will have a furniture recycling scheme where unwanted furniture and goods can be checked, repaired if necessary and are then available for people in need.
