Christian campaigning
There has never been a more compelling moment for the church in the UK and worldwide to show leadership around this issue. There are small innovative movements in churches all around the country and yet little national or international leadership.
The consequences of climate change will hit poor people hardest, both because they are more vulnerable to variations in climate and because they live in areas of the world where the impact of climate change is likely to be most significant. From an ethical standpoint alone, Christians undoubtedly should be leading the way in campaigning to tackle climate change. This may include supporting organisations lobbying for governmental changes and supporting organisations directly involved with those whose lives are impacted by climate change.
