Sharing transport
Could you survive without a second car in your household? Or without a car at all? There are a number of websites helping people to share car travel.
When public transport is not an option, fuel and other bills can be reduced considerably by car sharing. Plan supermarket shops with one or two others, share journeys to work, consider informal car sharing with friends you know well, give lifts to elderly people unable to get about easily. In big cities there are some excellent schemes for organised car shares.
