Youth

Young people

Young people face a challenging situation. The world they will inherit is increasingly troubled, not least because of all the issues relating to climate change.

Awareness of global realities is increasing and schools provide a very good basis for learning about all kinds of global issues, including climate change. Many schools encourage environmental societies and provide opportunities for young people to respond in practical ways.

The present generation have certainly provided an inheritance of mixed blessings for young people. When young people show their concern, particularly in any kind of formal structure, they are likely to meet with considerable sympathy and media interest. The next generation can show ways forward, and their righteous anger should provide powerful motivation for action – for all ages.
