Sustainable transport for schools
Government policy on providing ‘choice’ for students and their families has the consequence of taking the focus away from local schools. Instead of pupils attending a school within easy distance of their homes, school journeys are now frequently much longer (passing several other alternatives en route). The need to find sustainable alternatives to driving is thus more challenging.
